Exclamation Buff and Bronze?

We are a spa in Seattle that is looking into having a treatment where the massage therapist uses a tanning lotion instead of a massage lotion during their treatment. This will darken the client's skin during their massage. We were curious if any of you experts could recommend a good product for this. We are not sure if we should use a bronzer or self tanning lotion. Any recommendations would be helpful. We are still in the very early stages of creating this treatment so excuse my ignorance on the subject.

MMM? Nice thought but, on massages you "skip" some good size areas on the body so that is something to keep in mind because there would be male/female areas that are not bronzed.

You could always leave them a cup of the lotion to get those areas.

Just a thought.

Re: Buff and Bronze?

I would think the "therapist" would have really orange hands after that procedure.

Re: Buff and Bronze?

This is actually a fairly common massage treatment.

Re: Buff and Bronze?

I have heard of upscale salons offering a full body exfoliation followed by a bronzing treatment. I am not sure about massaging on a sunless tanning product. If you want to experiment I would use a Norvell sunless product. They have the best retail line for maintenance and best fragrances.

If you use only a cosmetic bronzer your customer would only be bronze until the next shower and cosmetic bronzers tend to rub off on things or if your body perspires, you would find brown spots on your clothing under the arms.

So you would have to use a self tanner containing DHA for optimum results. Your massage therapist would have to use some type of barrier, like gloves, to avoid stained hands.

Norvell has some excellent body scrubs. You could start with a full body exfoliation, wipe down with warm wet towel, spray the Norvell PH balance spray, and then apply the sunless tanning lotion. If you used any kind of heavy oil on the body that would negatively affect the sunless application.
