Has anyone heard that the Ultimate Tanning Line has gone out of business? No joke, I DID hear that it has gone out of business, discontinued. It kind of makes sense, some of their lotions, like Love Potion #30 which retails for close to $200.00, and other lotions, like the NEW " Enchanted " formula, which retails for close to $100.00...I know our clients will NOT pay that much for a tanning lotion, so maybe it's their ( Ultimate ) own fault for having to go out of business...??? Maybe in New York or Los Angeles and even here in parts of Chicago, some people " maybe " will spend that much on a lotion, but that's a big " maybe " to keep the shelves stocked with lotions that won't sell.

Does any of anyones clients sell high priced lotions, and by high priced I mean any lotion that costs over $60.00 ...? and do they sell ?

The most expensive lotion sold at my salon is Ultimate's new Enchanted and it is just sittting on the shelf, collecting dust...the sample packets cost close to $15.00- $20.00...for $20.00 they can buy a basic Australian Gold tanning accelerating lotion.

Companies that make and sell lotions with 20-30 bronzers , in my opinion, might as well just be selling " sunless tanning lotions" .

Peak '08 and prior, I could sell at any price point. As an example, DS Black was my best seller in 2008.

2009 has been quite the contrary though. People are holding back and prioritizing their money. We are selling the $60 +/- and I'm not keeping much stock of the higher end.

I'm not sure is Ultimate has been discontinued. Check with FS- they sell it and could probably give you some info. I've special ordered it a couple time for a client that used to use it. Their tingle is painful.

I dont seem to have any problems selling the higher priced lotions. I'm with DB Hottie, Black has been our number 1 seller the past 2 years and is still going. I learned a long time ago you get what you pay for and the same goes with skincare. I think the least expensive tanning lotion we carry is 16.95 Hustle from the splash line and when they try one of the lotions with a bigger price they always change because of the results they get.

I just checked on my distributors website and all ultimate lotions are on clearance with all sales final!! Looks like they are either going out of business or my distributor is no longer carring their line!!
