So, clearly I'm new to the board. But I'm working on a great tan for my wedding (pure white dresses do not look so hot on pasty white brides) and the lady at my salon is not so helpful. So after browsing this board, I'm going to turn to you guys - the pro's - to help me out with this. In high school I can remember using the DS Neurotics lotion that gave me a WONDERFUL tan for my prom, not to mention it had an awesome scent. Unfortunately I can't find it anymore and I'm sure it's been discontinued. After trying a few different types since then, most recently a Bananaberry Tini from Fiesta Sun (that is not impressive by any means), nothing has struck my fancy. So, I am returning to the DS products to get more quality out of my tanning sessions.

After a few hours of research I am finding myself between the Worship Me (that has rave reviews on the internet) and the TAO. I can't find any reviews on the TAO but the DS website says that you can see immediate results with it, but I'm not sure how "lasting" the tan will be; compared to Worship Me that some users claim to only have to tan once a week to maintain their tan. But I'm also liking the fact that the TAO has some "anti-aging" and "helps improve skin firmness/texture". I am looking for a deep dark tan that's not just a bronzer that last a few days and goes away.
My skin was originally pasty, but I'm the burn fades to tan and then my tan will build from there type of girl. I have now been to about 6 sessions (20 min laydown beds) and have a decent base tan. I want to kick it up a notch now. Has anyone tried either of these DS products?? Which is my best bet??

ordering off the internet is risky, you do not know how old the product is and if it is old, the bronzers could be broken down and will not work or even streak you. I do not believe they make TAO anymore, so that would definitely be old. worship me is okay, sold it about 2-3 years ago, but do not carry DS anymore.

i am a little shocked at your statement about the burn and fade to tan, really, if you burn then your skin dries out and sloughs off faster, so really you are going backwards and it will take you longer to achieve your tanning goal. I would suggest shorter, closer together sessions building time up gradually without burning and using a salon quality moisturizer at home along with your tanning lotion.

maybe someone else will chime in with a different opinion, but I really think you need to do a little more research on the proper way to tan.

Maybe I should clarify myself on the burn fades to tan. By burn, I don't mean that I'm peeling or anything - my skin just has a pink tone to it and this only happens the very first time I tan (if it's been 4 months or so since my last session). When my skin has the pink hue to it I don't go back until the following week, after the pink hue has gone from my skin. In my sessions following, my skin will gradually get darker from there and the pink tone in my skin does not return.

The TAO is a product listed on the Designer Skin Official website. They also advise against purchasing online - and I do not plan to buy online. I plan to buy this lotion at a salon near me, I just would like some advice on what would be a good one for me.

Pink = overexposure
Tan= tan

The year Tao came out, it was our top seller. I have seen many get very dark with Worship Me. IMO, Worship Me is better.

Worship Me stinks to high heaven, IMO.. I am using Monarchy now and its very nice. Lots and lots of color. Its the only DS lotion I carry at this time.

Yes defiantely give Monarchy a try. This lotion is great and smells amazing. Great results.

Try Ocean Potion..... They sell it at Walmart. This stuff is unreal!! only $11!! My scumbag loser cheap idoit customers seem to LOVE it. LMFAO
