Rep Power: 0 | A tanning Newbie... I am so overwhelmed reading all the lotion choices here that I don't know what to pick! You all seem very knowledgeable so here is my tanning profile. I am Irish pale, with blond hair and blue eyes. I tan (it took me about a month to develop a base a year ago). I am starting from scratch. I bought DS Golden Ceremony...but I don't think that is right for me on a long term basis. What would you all recommend on a daily basis? I am trying to keep it in btw $40-50. Thanks! Oh, I should also mention that I used some lotion I bought from Walgreens (I know, I know, but I was uninformed) before and HT Golden Abyss. I can't really ask the salon owners because they push HT lotions on me which work horribly. Also, is there anything I can do to salvage my DS Golden Ceremony so that I don't end up a streaky mess? Do you think I could mix it with regular lotion to distill it before using? I use a stand up bed...so I don't think it would hurt the bed? |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: A tanning Newbie... do not mix the lotion with anything, that defeats the purpose of a salon quality lotion. just apply your lotion evenly and do not skimp with it, that is usually where the streaking comes in (a lot here, not so much here and none there). it should be applied the same consistency all over. When you finish that lotion, try something else. Just because they suggest HT does not mean you have to buy it, tell them you do not care for it and would prefer another brand. |

Rep Power: 16 | Re: A tanning Newbie... Ask your salon to recommend something with a natural bronzer, dermadark bronzer- so you don't get streaks. Keep a good consistency with your tanning schedule; tanning lotion every time you tan; tan extender applied 2X daily. With the skin description you gave for yourself, don't expect fast results- take it slow and do it right- NO BURNING ALLOWED! Rotate levels and have fun ;) |
