Rep Power: 0 | Warning lable... On one of the bottles of tan accelerator lotion I bought, on the back label of the bottle - there was this sticker covering a warning paragraph. So I peeled it back to be able to read it, and it says: 'Warning: This product does not contain a sunscreen and does not protect against sunburn. Repeated exposure of unprotected skin while tanning may increase the risk of skin aging, skin cancer, and other harmful effects to the skin even if you don't burn.' This is kind of contrary to what I've heard of from people in the tanning industry, where they say that the risks of harmful effects is usually because of burned skin. They don't really mention that risks can exist even with just tanned skin, gotten that way very gradually over time. Yes of course everyones skin is different and so on, but that paragraph is just like saying: if you don't use sunscreen, like you won't be doing when you use this product, you are potentially hurting yourself and increasing the risk of saggy, wrinkly, cancerous boobs. (assuming you indoor tan with no top on) What take do you have on this?

Also unless you over tan you aren't doing any damage. That's like saying you should put a label on bottled water over the fear of drowning. People that are nuts will find a way to make anything deadly. |

My take on the label is that it's another example of how we have to strive to protect the stupid. If you're buying a tanning accelerator why would it contain an spf? My take on the actual wording of the label is that it's a warning that any activity, even tanning, can be over-done. Practice moderation in all things. Did you know you can drink so much water that you'll die?! My take on you is that you are posting here with an agenda and it's not one friendly to our industry. |
