It has killed our lotion market in this area, I realize that they are hurting as much as salon owners, but lotions are the salon owners bread and butter! Hw ould you all veterans handle this issue. I have 5 clients in the past week tell me they are buying their lotions there. Disheartening to say the least! |

Re: Where to buy lotions? Why are these guys coming on a business owners site anyway? Should have sent them to IAT site. Becoming a Tan Facebook site I think. Unless you are a contributing salon owner you really should be at IAT for these questions as that is where we engage your questions like this. This site is business owner to business owner.

And reading this, I understand that people in the industry are just trying to inform about buying lotions online. I was curious to what they had to say about them, but the WAY that they worded things kind of turned me off. Just saying from a customer who has spent $100 on lotion FROM A SALON before.....

Tanning Salon Business Owners Community The title is clear. I agree with ohhherikaaa though. Why is it that the general public can register, view, and post on this site? Many times posters are shewed away after asking questions, but the truth is this: Non-salon owners should not be able to register if the community is not willing assist them. Ohhherikaaa- You cant come onto a professional salon owners site and expect for us to direct you to an internet site to purchase lotions. Regardless of the markup, we must make a profit to remain in business. We did not go into business to break even. We are not greedy people, we have families just like everyone else to feed and shelter. We have just chosen to work for ourselves instead of someone else.

Thanks DB Hottie, although I wasn't personally asking for a site for lotion as well, just in case you thought that I was. =) And yes, I understand people need to make money. I've heard that before so it's not like my brain somehow doesn't decide to absorb what you are saying and actually process what you're saying. I'm just stating that instead of informing people in a manner that can be seen as rude or mean, try to change the "tone" (I suppose that it is subjective on the internet, but I'm sure you understand what I mean) of how you say things. I think I will delete my account on here, if possible. I think that I am getting better information from iamtan .com. Thanks to whoever before that suggested that non-tanning salon owners go there. There seems to be more information (I am not planning on buying bulbs for a bed anytime soon lol) for me there and a lot less drama/more positivity. Plus, there are salon owners on that site that are just as helpful. I don't think I can stand anymore of people trash-talking those (who may not do the smartest/politest things) who support their business and "feed and shelter their families". I don't believe that to be good business ethics, but it's just a personal opinion since I know a reason some threads were created was to vent. =) Last words: treat others how you want to be treated, I think it really makes a difference. Especially since you are in the customer service business, dealing with people. You can have great products in any business, but do poorly if you can't deal with people. If you don't enjoy it, you sure aren't going to show you are enjoying it. People can tell. Anyway, good luck with business. Your profits are somewhat a reflection of you. =) |

Tell your salon what you are looking for in a lotion (including price point) and what your tanning goals are. Any reputable salon will take that information and lead you in the right direction. Hey we agree on one thing, the registration needs to be modified. :) Have a good weekend.
