If we could get people to use this stuff as a daily moisturiser then we can sell more. Right now no one is interested in throwing on a heavy orange cream scent before they go out. (for instance) |

See I disagree. I find that people (mainly women) will buy the lotion based on scent. I find that the people that buy lotions based on scent are the ones that are going to the gym, back to work, running errands, etc, and don't want to smell like tanning after. The ones that don't care about scent are the ones that go home right after tanning and shower. | |

The smell will initally attract someone to purchase the product but, it can't have a long lasting effect because you don't want to smell like a vanilla candle all day. I like fragrance and I want that inital hit of it but it needs to disappear shortly after using. Perfume performs a different function. Lotion is not perfume. GK |

Also the clients who want all this heavy BRONZING products. These bronzers are way too much...it covers up the lack of what the equipment is capable of doing. JMO! |

Our salon was just discussing this and its a reason we may move to DS for some of our products. DS is popular in this area and the lotions have a lighter scent that is more neutral. There are are makers too, just using this one example. But I agree that generally lotions smell too strong. It can VERY often be a selling point, initially, but after one bottle the client wants to switch because they are now repulsed by the cranburry-bannana-chocolate-latte martini smell! Remember the classic cocoanut lotion smell of beach lotions? Clients still ask if we have an indoor that smells the same, we do not. |
