Rep Power: 130 | Cups or Packetts? When I first bought my salon the previous owners did the cup thing. I eliminated it. I felt it didn't give the consumer the reassurance as to what is in the cup, the freshness, and the quality in general. I went to packets right away. The cup system is still in effect at many salons. I am just wondering how it works for you? I still have cups but I tend to use them for free samples from my lotion stash. |

Rep Power: 107 | Re: Cups or Packetts? We offer both. Most lotions are sold in the packets, but we get larger bottles from the disty that we sample out into cups. I also sample lotions that aren't selling well in the cups and they sell very quickly. People don't even bat an eye at paying $2-3 for the cups when most packets are priced around $5. They may not be classy looking, but they make money! |

Rep Power: 130 | Re: Cups or Packetts? ^^^^ same I will only put enough for one use and not give a lid. I don't want them to get multiple uses from a freebie. I want them to fall in love and buy the bottle |

Rep Power: 23 | Re: Cups or Packetts? Our cups are behind the counter and all the bottles on the 4 glass shelves are markerd $3, $4 or $7 per 1/2 ounce and thats the size cups we use as thats the usual size of packettes also...we do have 1 ounce cups if we use booster drops or they choose to mix a few lotions together... This is very simple to figure out... Money wise... Buy a gallon of XYZ Lotion ~~ it contains 128 ounces or 256 ~ 1/2 ounce cups....at $3 each = $768.00 - the gallon of approx $98. = $670.00 profit... very easy for me to see where the money is..... Also, if they do purchase a packette we snip off the top and pour it in the cup so it is easier for them to use...ie: not splattered all over like mustard on the walls or floors like at a baseball game...... Also we only use a 13.5 ounce bottle or whatever size the lotions that we refill with gallons come in...No gallons are ever out on the counter for anyone to see....now that IS tacky... And another thing...pour the cup while they are standing there hence ~ it is fresh out of the bottle of their choosing (Never have them stacked up ready to use ~ Thats YOUR time for personal one on one education and to also sell a bottle of moisturizer or some other item they may need)...and NO LIDS...WHY??? So they don't save any for the next session...or you have just shot yourself in the foot....simply say..."sorry we have no lids for the cups..besides one needs to use that amount or more to amply cover their entire Body...I have never had a comeback to that statement yet... Good Luck and sell those cups... Soo
