DHA is an important ingredient in lotions and isn't something you want to stay away from (actually i don't think you could if you tried as every lotion out there pretty much has it in them now). The thing to educate yourself on is the amount of DHA in the products and who you are recommending them too. High DHA products are good for people with base tans already, someone really fair who is just starting out may notice an orange tint or streakiness when using a high DHA bronzer. A couple things to keep in mind: Dual bronzers - Non streaky and shouldn't turn anyone orange as long as they wipe their hands on a towel Triple or quad bronzers - need to be a little more careful as they are stronger bronzers 3x to 4x Different manufacturers have a tendancy to make high or low DHA bronzers. For instance: Designer skin - for the most part are non streaky, and won't turn your clients orange Supre - strong amounts of DHA in almost all of their bronzers and you should be careful who you recommend them to but they work awesome. John Abate - stronger dha bronzers as well Fiesta Sun - non streaky Hope that helps..... |

Ingredients to look for that are good: L-tyrosine or Unipertan - help the tanning process and increase tanning potential Vitamins A, C, E, CoQ10 - anti oxidents that help the skin Hemp seed oil - most hydrating oil available and excellent in moisturising the skin and helping the tanning process DHA - bronzing agent that blends with you melanin to produce an immediate tan Ingredients to stay away from: Mineral Oil Most lotions with an SPF in them Any lotion not made for the indoor tanning industry by an indoor tanning lotion manufacturer: Tan Max, Panama Jack, Deep Tan |

DHA is overused and it is more important to develop your own natural tan but unfortunately the manufacturers are only releasing products with bronzers in them. I guess it is because everyone wants a tan today and dosen't have the patience to build their tan over time. |

Rep Power: 19 | Re: Which Ingredients to stay away from?? it does help a little.......at my studio i am currently selling two supre products...Impact and Shift neither of them have DHA.....as for Designer Skin, every one of their lotions has it except for Rapture which is the only one i find to give the most natural tan......you're right though, it is pretty hard to stay away from it because almost every lotion has some DHA in it.....some more than others.....but still, it seems to me that any client who is using a product with DHA in it has a little bit of an orange colour....some more than others.....i am starting to think that getting a natural looking tan is near impossible!!!!!HELP PLEASE!!! |

I've also been reading the back of all the lotions and realized an interesting fact....the lotions with no DHA have been around the longest.....for example....from Cal Tan...Helix....Rage....form Supre....Impact...these are just a few....but all of the lotions contain no DHA and have been around the longest, and give the most natural looking tan.........maybe its for a reason!!!! |
