Does anyone know anything about tan enhancer pills? I just saw them on the internet and was like hmm, I'll ask the experts at tantalk what they think. Seems a little sketchy to me, but what does everyone know/think about them? Do they work? Are they bad? What?

crap - usually - look for carotene in the ingredients if you wanna be orange - ick!

L-Tyrosine (tanning pills), part of the amino acid chain, was thought to help synthesize melanin in the body. I know of no scientific evidence to support that claim.

Really Clubby? i thought that was a huge part of why lotion works - or do you just mean it only works topically?

I was referring to the tanning pills which contain L-tyrosine. I also have not heard of any scientific evidence that when applied topically, it will help one to get a tan.

L-Tyrosine:

L-Tyrosine is a conditionally essential amino acid. Tyrosine is an amino acid precursor to epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine, three important brain neurotransmitters involved in mood, mental function and sex drive. The above three neurotransmitters are also believed to have a positive effect in the increase of HGH levels. Tyrosine is also used by the thyroid gland for the production of Thyroxine, a vital hormone involved in regulating growth, metabolism, skin health and mental state.
