Relatively newbie tanner here (since this spring) that has gotten great results with what I have been doing these last couple of months, however, I am noticing that I have reached a plateau and am wondering if I could receive some lotion advice from you.

I started off with a great base tanner (for myself) in Vanilla Tini and moved into DS Tao and Veritas (mixing together some days) after hearing great things both at the salon and here on your site. I also use Amazing Face as well. I am wondering if there is anything else out there that can help me progress further.

No, I am not looking for the instant dark tan. I am just trying to keep my lotion options open and possibly break this plateau I seem to be on.

I would love to try a tingle, however, between my medicine (which my salon owner is also on .... and I really trust her judgement call in this as I have known her for nearly all my life) and having a toddler at home, I really am hoping there are other options beyond a tingle for me.

I also have issues with the whole chocolate smell ... well, just chocolate in general. It makes me sick. I know strange, but true.

The people at the salon are really helpful, but have a limited amount of lotions there to try. I would like to venture into something new, and have looked at DS Love Junkie, Dolce, and Neurotic really hard but are not sure if they are what I am looking for ... and I don't believe the salon carries samples of Dolce and Neurotic.

Can someone give me some insight as to what to use and how to go about breaking this plateau? I am planning to continue my tanning throughout the rest of this year.

Many thanks!

Switch between different equipment, If the tingle thing isn't for you this is the only way to break it. There is no miracle lotion to do it besides a tingle. Do a regular low pressure, VHR and lastly a HP tan in that order using the lotions that you described above should break you through. A rotation between the different UVB%'s should do it.

I personally use Tanology #4 and get really dark with it. JA Citron Sorbet is another that really slaps me with color.

I agree! We have the best results mixing up the beds here too!

I want to thank you both for responding .... I try and mix the beds as often as possible, so hopefully this plateau will be short lived!

Also, pp, thanks for the lotion tips ... I just may look into using one of them!

I was rotating through beds too when I hit my plateau. I rarely ever used the same bed two sessions in a row. But, my salon owner advised me to drop down to the base bed for 3 or 4 sessions and then hit their best upgrade. I tried it, and that really pushed me over. The higher UVB for a couple of sessions followed by higher UVA really does the trick.

Use anything other than Designer Skin. JA Bronzer will make a big diffrence.
