What is the deal with bronzers? - tanTALK

OK, I think I need help :0 It seems as though almost ALL non tingle lotions are bronzers! What happened to just plain old accelerators. I do know that there are SOME out there, but not too many As far as I know (which isn't too much about tanning...but i'm trying;)) bronzers are plain accelerators with DHA or cosmetic bronzer that make you look darker. So my question is, do bronzing lotions actually make you TANNER, or just LOOK tanner? It just seems to me that bronzers don't show up on me very well. I would just love to find a lotion, bronzer or not, that actually makes me dark...not just a fake bronzer on top of my weaker tan that can wash off:( Someone pretty pretty please help me?? THANKS!

Bronzer lotions add colour, but they do make you tanner at the same time, it just gives you a boost in an instant colour, but you do build colour whilst using it. I notice my bronzer lotions like CalTan's Pure Chocolate are bronzer accelerators.

My favourite plain accelerators are Brown Envy by Synergy Tan, Impact by Supre, and Helix by CalTan.

Bronzers give the client instant gratification with colour quick and some will develop more colour a few hours later. I don't believe they increase the actual melanin tan anymore than a non-bronzer of the same quality. I don't push bronzers much, for the reason you state, and salon that does, seems to me, may be compensating for a poor lamp change schedule (old lamps all the time). If someone happens to have a hard time developing a natural tan, then it's worth suggesting a bronzer.
