Rep Power: 24 | I solved that problem pretty much by offering a $10 REWARD for the store bought crap, and it sits in a wicker basket for all to see....and when they see their crap in the basket they egerly want to trade it in!!!!! |

Rep Power: 107 | That's what I have posted at my place, displayed with a few empties of the banned stuff. If it isn't from a reputable, recognized indoor lotion manufacturer we cannot allow them to use it. |

Rep Power: 0 | In our salon, we generally have very little trouble with such products. We explain that the Hawaiian Tropic bottles (Tan 2 Max line) claim to be salon proven. PROVEN does not mean approved. They may generate results, but we remind clients that these products offer very poor skin care ingredients and damage our equipment. We have a sign posted in each room that reads: Use of Hawaiian Tropic Tan Max (spray or lotion), outdoor tanning lotions, oils and sunscreens is not permitted. These products cpntain ingredients that damage the transmissive quality of the acrylic sheet. The removal of such products is time consuming and not always possible. With this said, Clients will be held responsible for any and all damage resulting from the use of these products. ________ Any thoughts regarding our approach to this issue? |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: Hawaiian Tropic Tan2Max I found an empty bottle of this **** in my garbage this morning before opening. Usually I check the garbages when I go in to clean the beds specifically for this reason, but I wasn't working last night when it was thrown out, so I really have no idea who it belongs to. Are there any ingredients in this product specifically that are not good for the skin or the acrylics? I'm asking because I had an arguement with my mom about why I don't want people using these types of products in the salon, even though they say tanning bed proven. All I could come up with is they're not good for the skin and they wreck the beds, but that wasn't a good enough reason for her. She said I can't really tell people they can't use the product when it specifically says it contains no mineral oil and it says it's for indoor use. I said I can tell my customers they can't use it because it's my salon and right now, I can't afford to be replacing acrylics on beds that are less than a year old. So if I were to confront a customer about using these products in my salon, what kinds of things can I do or say other than "It's bad for your skin" or "It wrecks my beds" to convince them to even try something I sell? Because I know one day I'll get a customer like my mother who will argue to the death that it's okay to use. |
