Rep Power: 0 | I sell designer skin in my salon really well. And a few customers had said they were interested in buying, but over the weekend at the once montly market they bought lotion for the same price my salon pays for it from my distr. How can I keep them from selling to my cust. |

Rep Power: 24 | Chelley, Either email sizzle@designerskin.com or call them, phone number is on the back of their bottles and ask for Blake also, put her name in the subject line if you email. She is in charge of lotion diversion. They should get on this immediately. |

Rep Power: 0 | Chelley, Either go the flea market yourself or have someone you trust go and buy a bottle of the lotion from the person with the booth. Poke around a little and ask if they can get a particular lotion which they have available there at the moment. See if you can get a business card or telephone number for them. Maybe tell them then you'd be interested in a lot of lotion if they think they'd be able to provide it - - - if you want to go that far with it. Anyway, after you leave with your new bottle of lotion, get back home or to your salon and contact Desiger Skin at www.designerskin.com and tell them what has happened. Provide them with any information you were able to get from the flea market person. There is a tracking number on very bottle of designer skin under the lable, and they can tell which distributor they sold that particular bottle to and can go from there to get the person at the flea market shut down. I have done this more than once and don't in the least feel bad about it. These people are breaking laws and just general good business practice - they may not know about breaking laws, (maybe they do but hope you don't know it too) but they know they are being sneaky, and that's why they are there in the first place. Also, you may get lucky in that the distributor you buy from is also the one who sold the lotion to them in the first place and they can handle the problem as well. I had that happen with one of the flea market people. They were representing themselves as a tanning salon, gave an address and a telephone number. After checking up on them, since the info they gave for themselves was only about 30 minutes away from me, I found that the address was their home and that the salon does not actually exist. You can apply for a tax id number and pretend to be a salon for a long time. As long as you pay the taxes, as far as the state is concerned, they wont look into the matter. |

I would think that just buying a business liscense would alert the state or county there is a new business that needs to be check????? I really do not know how some people "get away" with stuff like this! |

Rep Power: 21 | At the conventions, Designer skin has always said, if somebody comes into your salon and says they purchased their lotions somewhere other than a salon to take that bottle and give them one of yours. Contact them and they will send out another bottle free to replace the one you gave out. They will want the bottle that you have to get the tracking code off of it to find out who purchased the bottles. I have found some links on the web selling DS and even on ebay. You can email blake@designerskin.com of anythink you come across. They are awesome, she usually responds the next day and lets you know the course of action. |

Rep Power: 0 | WAIT A MINUTE!!! I want someone from Designer Skin to explain why they told an entire group of us at a symposium held earlier this year that they were 100% capable of tracking down product diverters and that it would no longer be an issue. I thought their story seemed fishy then, but now I am certain. Ask anyone who was at the event in San Diego in January. At a break in the symposium, I asked "How?" they were able to track their products and the DS representative explained that there was a "secret number" stamped under the shrink wrap label that Designer Skin could use to trace the path of the product through the diversion site. If that is the case, then why isn't someone just buying the product and sending it to Designer Skin so they can trace it? I AM SICK OF HEARING MADE UP STORIES ABOUT HOW THESE COMPANIES A SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING PROTECT SALONS AGAINST DIVERSION!!! Why make up stories about being able to do something you cannot do? Uuuuugh! |

Rep Power: 0 | I was sent an e-mail from a company online that is selling DS for prices too low to even mention on this board. The industry has embraced and trusted DS and now this? If you are a salon owner and only a salon owner and you PM me I will give you the site addy. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: THEDORSEYTOUCH on 2004-05-01 00:50 ] |
