Rep Power: 0 | Is it bad to use a tanning lotion that has DHA in it in a tanning bed?? I am so confused. I was sold Caribbean Gold Sex Pot at the salon. She said that's what she sells the most of. Now I read that it's really bad to use it in the beds. Can someone clarify this for me. THANKS SO MUCH!! |

Rep Power: 0 | Sunni, If DHA is stated in the ingrediant list, on a bottle of lotion, before your tanning accelaroters, and "wrinkle fighters" (CoQ10 etc..) then the lotion is not worth using. When DHA is added to a product it makes any ingrediant, higher on the list, useless. Sure if DHA is the fifth ingrediant than your sure to get that extra color, however you'll miss out on the skin care ingrediants that really matter. |

Rep Power: 0 | DHA reacts with your dead skin cells and darkens them. They slough off within a few days and you lose the color. However, when you expose your skin to DHA AND UV light from the tanning bed, you accelerate the breakdown of the collagen in your skin. I've decided that it's not worth the little temporary browning (as you produce melanin and darken in response to the UV light but this is a slower process and most pple want immediate results) So what I do is I use a bronzer free lotion for the bed, and I apply the bronzer lotion on non-tanning days before getting in bed. I can tell you that i'm now darker than i've ever ever been just from this past week. FYI I use platinum zero in the tanning bed, and X power on off-days before going to sleep. Freaky dark...gf told me to lay off the tanning |
