I called my rep today. He was not fully aware of the new lines coming out. I told he and his fellow reps need to check out this site. He did info me they would be getting the new Cal Tan stuff next week, per his boss, and I requested samples. I am so EXCITED.

According to my rep, Cal Tan will be distributing a relatively same sample pack to salons as they did last year. Should be late November, early Dec, according to him.

I would like to see Cal Tan reinvent itself soon. They used to be the #1 lotion line. What happened? The only products that sell for us is beach bum rum and total immersion.

We are Caltan exclusive. We sell, obviously, a great deal of Caltan. I have been pleased with their products and for the past 6 years my opinion has always been that Caltan has the best line as far as variety of lotion, steps program, education. They have really played a huge part in our staff's education of their product. That is so extremely important. If you don't have a clue as to what you are selling you will not sell it well. We have ongoing training sessions with a Caltan Rep. She has already been down to introduce the new line to us.

Another great thing I see coming for Caltan is that I feel they are pioneer's in the lotion manufacturing due to the responsibility they are taking with their new line. They have included skin firming and conditioning ingredients that far out way what they have done before. This gives me and my staff a wonderful tool in selling this product. It partically sells itself anymore with all the improved formulas and the attention to skin care they have committed too.

I'm sure there are other great lotion manufacturers as we have used them and I care a great deal for some of their products. Caltan is just by far the industries leader in making themselves a usable tool for our salons.

I agree with you Tracie about Cal Tan being a great product, but I have carried Cal Tan for 10years and in the last 5 years I think they are going in the wrong direction with the Cal Tan line. Instead of coming out with a $80.00 bottle of lotion why not imporve some of the products that you already have.Beach Bum Rum it has always been a great selling product for us why not inprove that product by adding hot action the following year. I see they are starting to do just that this year but with a cooling agent. A lot of our clients get attached to a product and then the next year we don't carry it beacuse there is so many new products. Another example Rage and Tropical Sizzle both of these products were nation wide best sellers why not add to them, people recognize and remember these products. Oh yeah by the way how many bottles of Power X did you sell at the sugested retail price.

Rage is still in the line, just with a new look and updated formula!

Rum on the Rocks has been a good seller and we have only had it for 2 weeks! Give it a try. Beach Bum fans love it!

X Power is also a great seller for us, and X Bronzer will be big as well...AT FULL RETAIL

We never did very well with the Rage or Sizzle......but have done VERY well with the X Speed and X Power (at full retail)over 200 bottles each. The Beach Bum Rum has been a great seller as I expect the Rum on the Rocks will be also.

I wish I could sell a $70 bottle of lotion here, customers just cringe up their nose, even if I let them try it for free I just can never get sales off of it...I think the majority of my customers are cheapies, I mean tons by lotions but they do not want to spend over $30 for it...

BB, if you have upgrade beds, give them free sessions with the purchase. I have found if I give the free tanning with the lotion, they really will more faster. It has helped alot around here. The highest lotion I sell is 66.00 and that it the AG Bronze Glaze and the SB safire and seduction, I give 2 free upgrades in my 450 Classic and clients dont have problem buying it with the free tanning.
