Cal Tan Going up $$$$ AGAIN?? - tanTALK

I was talking with one of my distributers today about new products, and was informed
California Tan has raised prices again?! Has anyone else heard this?
Do they understand they are making it harder and harder for us to sell their product?

Why is it harder and harder to sell Cal Tan products???? They make great products that are easily sold when you explain the benefits of using high quality ingredients for good skin care and great tanning results. We have sold over 250 bottles each of X Power and X Speed at $70 each.

The web conference is tomorrow and I think when you see the whole presentation.....it all makes alot of sense. There is virtually something in there for every level of client. What Teresa has reported has happened world-wide. Her firm is dedicated to representation and high quality training. That is an excellent part of their success.

I understand that the products are great! I have been to Cal tan training, My employees are quized right from the Cal tan handbook, so that they also understand the products and why they are benificial.
I explain the benefits to my clients as do my employees
but every year the prices go up, Designer skin is selling like crazy. My Cal Tan sales are slowing,and my salon advertises Cal Tan more then anything! but still it sits, So the price hike only makes me wonder what will happen. I do think the new look will help! But please tell me what more I can do to sell this product, I believe the price hike will only hurt Salon owners and push clients even closer to Designer skin ect.. Its okay not to agree but I have seen this happening in my own salon! People are already asking me what Designer skin will have out new? I have not heard 1 employee or client ask me about Cal Tan, Hey I love Cal Tan,
I grew up on Cal Tan, But it really is becoming difficult to sell, no matter how much I inform them or my employees! I am open to any and all suggestions,

I was told there was limited openings for the web conference because of bandwidth but it will be archived soon after it is complete and will be available for all to view for 1 month. As soon as I have more info on the link to that archive I'll let everyone know.

Yeah, some of the products went up in price (.50 - $1.50) but some remained the same (X Collection) and for some reason Climax actually went down from retail $55.00 to $50.00 (probabally b/c it is now 6oz). I don't really understand their thought process, I am just passing on information. Cal Tan products have always been easy to sell b/c like "Gap" or any other brand name, you are selling the name that stands behind a quality product.

I know what you are saying, Cal Tan does have great products, but I dont stock alot of them, not unless a client request it. They are the highest price lotions, to me, on the market right now. JA use to be, but not anymore.

CalTan lotions are good, but I have always found them to be a bit overpriced. There are other products on the market that have similiar results that cost less and are therefore easier to sell. I'm with TanningEmporium, I don't stock many anymore.
