Rep Power: 23 BronzeBabe will become famous soon enough
I was reading one of the latest trade mags this morning for the 5th time and came across an advertisment for Tropical Seas products...has anyone heard of them or used any of their products? I checked out their website and it seems like they have quite a few items.

I have seen them at shows. We just don't seem to do well with 'bath and body type products' in our salon. I might try again though....can't figure customers out sometimes.

I agree Pam, I have tried some different bath products that also did not go over well with customers, they just seem to not even look at them...
The only bath product that went over fairly well was, soaps, I brought in some natural soaps and they went really well, I have not had anyin stock for quite awhile, have been lazy, but have been looking back into it, if anything it is a small investment and it looks good on my shelves, BTW what other non-tanning realted products do you carry Pam?

I have tried various things...candles, sunglasses, jewelry. Nothing much does too good for us except lotions & moisturizers. I only have a small front area so don't have room for anything too big.

I have carried candles too Pam, what company did you go through, I found a new company that offers great smelling/looking candles for a reasonable price, I have not dipped into jewelry but I am this season...
I also have a hard time selling moisturizers, I remember back in the day when I used to sell tons, but then again I also had a trial bottle out on the counter for them to sample it, maybe that was the key, Ah live and learn, right?
Anyways I just saw the ad for this compnay and wondered if they were any good and what the price point was?

TJ...the company that I will be going with is http://www.heavenlyscentcandles.com
The candles burn really good and they have fabulous scents...
Also the price point is good too...8oz jar $6.50....16oz $11.00, they also have a 11oz for $9.00 but I am only going to carry the 8oz and 16oz in my salon...
Another thing that is nice is they offer Private Label is you are interested in haveing your own candle line!

Rep Power: 21 BAHAMA MAMAS is on a distinguished road
My neighbor owns a Candle Company. And is trying to get me to sell hers in my store. I just was not sure how they would do in a tanning salon. Her Candles are awesome, burn nice, smell great and are not super expensive. She just added an aroma therapy line and they seem nice as well! if any one is interested in her candles, I could let her know.

Is that the price you pay for the candles Bronzebabe? If so, what do you sell them for?

When selling candles make sure the candle wicks are cotton core not iron, and have the company to assure you the candle will have a scent all through burn time. And if you know the burn time of the candle that helps with the sell.
Bronze , with every lotion sell we 8 out of 10 times we sell a moisturizer . IF you tell the client about the fact that mineral will damage your acrylic and inform them of the hydrocholride ingredient that will fade their tan, they will stop buying the cheap stuff and purchase your moisturizer . If a client comes in everyday and tans they are using the cheap stuff and you need to inform them, they dont need to tan everyday if they are using your lotions and mositurizers. Try it, it works for me.
