What we are finding is an increased demand for better quality non-tinlgle products

Continued growth with bronzers with and without DHA

Continued growth with eye protection

Increased demand for mens products

Salon owners realizing the need for training and continued education

We are finding a continuing trend of customers sneaking in the cheap Walmart Austrailian Gold and Banana Boat. It's becoming increasingly difficult to sell our hi end lotions without adding some bonus tans. I think most companies are going to have to add some less expensive lotions to their lines for these types of customers.

From a customer's perspective, we want lotions of the highest quality developed specifically for facial skin!

There are alot of good quality facial tanning products available now. The three that I have used are Illuminate by California Tan, Carotene Cream by JA, and Saving Face by Designer Skin. All of these are great products!!!!

Don't forget about Matahari's Lustrous it's awesome for the face as well. Used it last night after not using it for awhile and I saw a nice difference in color.

I love the Illuminate. I sometimes will tell my clients, "Here, this is my personal tube, try it..." they will usually buy it as soon as they tan with it once.

With all of the talk about Lustrous (Christene) I ordered a tube of it (I don't even sell Matahari) just to try it. I will in the next day or two.

I see the trends in 2003:

1) More lower priced products so salon owners can offer products that are around the price of retail diversion products. $10-$20 suggested retail.

2) I see tingling product continuing to fade in popularity!

3) More bronzers: In Moisturizers, In Step one products, in the majority of products.

4) I think Oil products and oil based lotions are set for a comeback.

5) Lot's of specials, discounts and deals on indoor tanning products .

Greg, I think you are right on because that is what I am seeing in my salon. Except for the 'teenies' most everyone is over tingles. I still sell a few but very few. Bronzers are still very big and I sell mostly $13 - $40 lotions. Have you got new stuff up your sleeve?

I agree with all the above. I am glad to see the tingle leaving. I would like to see PL get to a point I as a 1 bed super salon(grin!) could afford it.
