I am just getting back to tanning and am curious about what lotion is best for a deep base? I was going to try one with tingle factor but as I understand it that should wait until I have the base. Any non-bronzer suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some of my best selling and favorites:

Tanning Basic by John Abate
Creme' Brulee' by John Abate
Platium Zero by John Abate

Accomplish by Cal Tan
Deeper by Black Sun

All the above are non-tingle and no added bronzers

We've found that Definitely Dark and Cocoa Butter Spread both by Emerald Bay are excellent at building a base tan and are reasonably priced.

I agree with tangirl here. Definitely Dark and Cocoa Butter are two excellent starter lotions. Some of my clients also really enjoy Swedish Intensifier by Swedish Beauty. I personally do not enjoy the smell but this lotion is also a big seller for me.

Depending on your skin, gel's are great for helping you tan. But even the best gel will offer no moisture for your skin. I love Toasted Honey if you don't mind the shimmer, then use an after tan moisturizer while my skin is still warm. Or I would also suggest Ambrosia which has both a gel and a lotion and smells great too.

My favorite of all to start out with is Melaplus. It is so good for your skin especially if it is dry, tanning will dry out your skin even more.

What lotions does your salon sell? Give us some clue as to what is an option for you then maybe we could help you further.
