I have tried Body Drench's "Wipe Out", but it hasn't helped all that much. I white blotches on my upper chest area and on my shoulders.

I wanted to find something that worked really well so I could offer it to my customers. I prefer sell something that I know works good.

Thanks,
Greg

The best I have found is Selsum blue medicated shampoo, unfortunately you won't make any money on it but your customers will appreciate that you are looking out for their best interests.

I was under the impression the the white spots you see have always been, just that with tanning you notice them becasue they don't tan. That they were in fact a fungus that your body produces, and you could get a cream from the Dr. only for it. Part of the cream is to stay out fo the sun??????

Did you try "Halt"? I'm pretty sure that it is Body Invest.

My niece was told by dermatologist that is from a fungus that is present on the scalp in some people. He recommended what someone else here said--selsun blue on hair and areas affected. It is most common in people with thick and or long hair and usually appears on the shoulders, chest and upper arms. Pam

Pamtails your dermi was right..
IT'S A FUNGUS.....
Use an anti-dandruff shampoo as a body wash..
Dry the skin after shower or bath with a blow dryer.. do not leave the skin moist.Do NOT use TEGRIN it's UV senitive. but head and shoulders is good.
Use it instead of soap or a soft body wash. These have properties that keep the fungus acive..
Use the whipe out or any topical solution when ever you tan indoors or out on the area that this occured.
Besure to exfoliate the region {fungus area}. Tell client to continue to tan and continue to use anti-dandruff shampoo.
It can be stopped.
During the stage of exfoliation.. use a self tanner to even out pigmentation.
Tell them this is natural, not to worry.

You are right, Chris. You have to tell them it is normal or they act like you think they are dirty or zomething. We always have to make them feel comfortable and assure anyone around that it isn't contagious.

I have stocked and sold a product called Arrest. My clients that have used it were happy with the results. But you have to address the source also. Like they have said, treat your scalp and hair.

If people with this are using the same tanning bed you are you will keep geting infected.
Try a booth for a few months, with treatment it will go away and if you continue to use the booth it won't come back.

Theres some good advice posted here.

This is how my clients get rid of the fungus:

Shampoo and condition Hair and body daily with NIOXIN'S Bionutrient Cleanser and Scalp Therapy so you don't have to put your skin on drugs with selsum blue or head and shoulders. Then use ARREST SUN SPOT TREATMENT on affected areas daily for two weeks. If you don't want it to come back continue with NIOXIN.
I did have this problem years ago but this has fixed it for my clients and myself for years now.
www.nioxin.com to find a salon near you that stocks NIOXIN.
