Lotion of the month???? - tanTALK

Has anyone seen great sales results from doing a lotion of the month?

We have been considering doing this for a long time, but just haven't had the chance to do it yet. We recently started a lotion club. When they buy a certain # of bottles of lotion the get the last one a % off. So far, they seem to like the idea.

We are in the middle of our Lotion of the month, this may scare some to do this. We placed one line of our lotion on sale, all varieties you pick it for $25.00, this is lotion we sell normally sell up to 69.99. We sold 41 bottles last week when we would normally sell around 6. Volume by numbers seems to work well and builds loyalty.

I have done a feature lotion of the week.

Put a bottle on lotion on your counter and have samples of that lotion sitting next to it (where the customers sign in). They will ask about the lotion and most will try a sample.

I do have a lotion of the month. Customers can have a sample of it and a print out of all the good things about it. It is also sold at a discount for that month.

The print outs do sometimes end up in the trash, but I really think most customers read it first. They seem to be more educated on certain ingredients for example and look for those things in other lotions. It works well for me. My LOM right now is the Hot Chocolate. NExt month will probably be JA Infrared, then for prom I will feature Margarita Madness.
