California Tan has the most amazing add-on product for the dedicated tanner who already buys and uses lotion on a regular basis. It is very light with a pleasant fragrance. It is non-greasy and non-comedogenic (which means it won't clog your pores!!). It is not only good for use to tan your face, but it also can be used daily under your make-up or as a facial moisturizer .

The tube is great and has a very nice little pump to it. Kudos for lotions with a pump... I get so tired of shaking and squeezing!! Not too much comes out so you don't have a huge glop left over that you don't know what to do with...

If you aren't carrying Illuminate or if you haven't sampled it, please reconsider. This is an awesome product!! I have a tube I use for tanning and a second tube I use on a day to day basis.

What kind of color does it give you? Are you tan already?

I had a base tan before I tried it... and in all honesty it got me so dark, with such incredible color that the next time I tanned I used a spf on my face. It's a facial only tanning lotion. My face is officially darker than the rest of me. So YES it gave me AWESOME color! I also loaned the tube to my friend the day I used the spf and that night you could see a visible difference. She didn't even have a base tan and it was awesome!

Did I mention it was awesome?

I agree, Illuminate is a good product. It is thin and light, great for those with oily skin and can't use anything heavy. For those prone to dry skin, HP2000's Facial Booster is wonderful.

If this product and the other facial lotions work so well on the face, could they be used on legs which is the other difficult place for some tanners to get results?

schoolboy... yes, I also use it on my hands and it does do very well there also. The tube is small so I wouldn't recommend using it all over. But for those occasional hard to tan areas, yes... you can use it elsewhere.

Everyone who is tanning the face needs a product made just for the face.

In the Matahari line by California Tan there is a facial Complex called Lustrous.
If you got a bit pink when using Illuminate it was probably because it contains an apple skin extract. Switch back and forth between Lustrous which has a slight bronze tint to it and ocean derived properties.

Illuminate has plant(fruit) extracts and Lustrous has ocean properties.

Remember our bodies are our own little planets, we need all the same things as our earth to maintain balance and beauty.

Remember the throat and chest area are defined as the FACIAL AREA also.

fungirlz....what does the apple skin extract have to do with getting pink. I love the Illuminate & I have let a couple of my regulars try it & they too really liked the results from it.

My dad tans a couple times a week & when he used the Illuminate, his cheeks got RED. I didn't have a problem with anyone else getting red except him & now with your comment, it has me wondering.

I think it is going to do well as a facial tanner & I love the smell of it too!!!
