I have had a couple of ladies tell me they see better results without lotion. I had previously sold them lotion but noticed they quit bringing it in, that's when I got the " I tan better without it"They said the parts they were not putting lotion on were getting darker than the areas that had lotion. How do you argue with this????Thanks------------------Tommy Lowery

Dry skin blocks the uvs rays, the same way a tan does.Tanning lotions make the dry skin more transparent as well as reflecting light back into the skin. The lotions also have ingredients in them like tyrosine that the skin uses to produce pigment! They don't understand or can not afford the new high prices of todays lotion.Try less espensive lotions and explain why they work!Lotions can speed up tanning by up to 45% by acting like a magnifier.and moistureize the skin so the heat from tanning will not dry out the skin.We find 90%+ of out tanners use lotion.Make sure they didn't use out door sunscreens and find they didn't tan well. Most people think they are the same thing!Tanning with lotion is the most effective way to tan!

I am a seasoned year round tanner and have experimented both ways. I find I achieve my best results after a fresh shower using a tanning lotion. Even some of the low end beginning lotions do better than no lotion at all. I also use cocoa butter and moisturizing lotions on non-tanning days to keep my skin moisturized. I find that my tan fades if I neglect this basic care of my skin on a day to day basis. I am also careful to avoid detergent soaps and stick with moisturizing soaps with no added color or perfumes. I stay away from all soaps that claim to be deodorant because I find they are too harsh on my tanned skin. Another trick is also to drink lots of water on a daily basis, drinking additional water (at least 16 oz more) on tanning days. I use moisturizing tanning lotions on my face and backside and JA tingle on my legs and arms. For my torso and other areas that tan easier and don't dry out as quickly I use a level 2 tanning lotion. Boy, I know that sounds complicated, but it's a routine I stick with and have been able to maximize my tanning. Let me also state that I would have never nor would ever dream of purchasing my tanning lotions from anywhere other than my trusted tanning salon. I am in the planning stages of opening my salon and want to be able to provide my clients with the most knowledge I possibly can. The only way I can do that is through my own tried and tested methods for achieving superior tanning.Laurie
