As we get ready for a new tanning season, I want to put educational material for salon owners to copy to provide training for their staff.Part 1 is Why Tanning Products Work.(See the post second from the bottom)Part 2 is How to Use tanning Products .( Get your staff to educate your tanners to use lotion correctly)How to Use Tanning Products !How Much Tanning Product Should I Use Before Tanning? Everyone is different, the larger your body the more you will use per session. The key is to get a good thick covering of Moisturization, Magnification, and Skin Conditioning ingredients onto your skin before your time Soakin’ Up The Rays (R). Some Tanning Lotions Are Thick and Do Not Rub In Quickly: What Should I Do? The more moisturization a lotion has, the thicker it will be. Do not worry, even if all the lotion is not rubbed in completely, within a few moments the heat of the bed will cause the lotion to liquefy, melting into your skin, providing additional Moisturization, Magnification, and Skin Conditioning ingredients during your time Soakin’ Up The Rays (R). When Should I Apply Tanning Lotion? Most tanners apply their lotion immediately before tanning for the best magnification properties. If you can not apply lotion immediately before tanning, then apply your lotion when you can for the Moisturizing and Skin Conditioning needed to improve your results from your time Soakin’ Up The Rays (R).Should, I use an After Exposure Tanning Product between tanning sessions? Absolutely! Experts indicate that the body is “tanning” for up to 48 hours after your time Soakin’ Up The Rays (R). By using an After Exposure Tanning Product like Soakin’ Up The Rays (R): Continious (TM) as often as possible but especially after your shower and before bed you are getting the maximum Moisturization, and Skin Conditioningingredients onto your skin between your time Soakin’ Up The Rays (R).What if I do not have an After Exposure Tanning Product is there a good alternative?Use your a high quality Aloe Vera based tanning lotion without bronzers or tingling an applying that as often as possible but especially after your shower and before bed. This way you are getting the maximum Moisturization, and Skin Conditioning ingredients onto your skin between your time Soakin’ Up The Rays (R).Are There Any Tanning Lotion that should not be used as an After Exposure Tanning Product between Sessions: Yes, Tingling products or other products that cause skin irritation should not be used repeatedly betweentanning sessions. The other products are gel products because they are drying to the skin not moisturizing. You should use your high quality Aloe Vera based tanning lotion between tanning sessions. Thus, getting the maximum tanning benefits of Moisturization and Skin Conditioning ingredients between your time Soakin’ Up The Rays (R).------------------Greg KlesiusSoakin' Up The Rays, Inc.1-800-935-7625WWW.Soakinuptherays.comAwarded the First TSO Seal of ApprovalWWW.naatso.org

Greg,Thanks for all the information you provide. It is very educational & helps me a lot! What about moisterizing lotions that have mineral oil in them? Should these be avoided & do they hinder the tanning process? Thanks!Ginger
