Rep Power: 0 | Jenny, John Abate products are all big sellers. We also carry Cal Tan and Supre that do very well. Specific lotions of each brand are better sellers than the others. If you would like a list of what our most populat sellers are I will be glad to send you one. |

Rep Power: 24 | Welcome to the biz!In my personal experience, I have found that what works best for my salon is this: We try EVERY lotion before we buy it. That way we can not only speak from experience, but it gives us a chance to educate ourselves on it as well. Learn as much as you can!!! Read everything, question everyone! The more educated you are about products, the easier you will sell them. So, carry things YOU like. It is very hard to persuade a customer to spend $40 on something if you hate it. Stick with quality products! Don't give your clients inferior garbage to choose from, provide them with the best possible option from which to choose. Our best selling line is John Abate'. We offer California Tan as well and a new line called Botania. I have tried Greg's products (Soakin' Up the Ray's-private label) and plan on stocking them as we go into the busy season. I am sure he would be glad to send you some samples to try. And, lastly...don't EVER let people use outdoor lotions in your equipment!!! Not only is it bad for your equipment and their tan, but, it totally undermines any chance you have of selling them professional lotions. Good luck! |

Rep Power: 0 | California Tan lotions are the BEST! They offer a wide variety of products to accomodate for every skin type and if a client needs extra help tanning their face or legs. If the client has a preference for a lotion, oil, gel, bronzers, DHA self-tanners, tingle, or non-tingle, they have the choice with Cal Tan products. Cal TAn also makes Matahari, Emerald Bay, and Touch of Bali. ALL GREAT PRODUCTS! |

Rep Power: 24 | What and How Many Different Tanning ProductsShould Your Salon Stock?:Every salon is different but I believe that every salon should stock 12 to 20 different lotion items. The first thing you should do is decide on one product line to focus on. 80% of tanners will purchase the line you recommend.Train your staff on suggestively selling your principle line to every tanner that walks through the door. To decide onthis line, call and get samples from many indoor tanning product lines. Try them all personally, as well as, with your staff and customers to determine the quality of the product. Then calculate that product’s profitability and if the product is sold only to tanning salons or if it is available in non-tanning retail stores, and/or beauty suppliers that will steal sales from you. Choose a product line to focus on that has a good diversity of steps: Tingling Products,Non-Tingling Products, Bronzer Products, Moisturizer , and Tingling-Bronzer Products to total 8 to 10 different items. Now that you have chosen a primary product line. Let’s answer the other question. No! You should not just stockone line of indoor tanning products . I Make a fantastic product but I am not so arrogant as to think it is the endall and be all for every tanning salon or every tanner. I know you should stock 8 to 10 of the top national sellerswithin the indoor tanning market. The 20% of customers that will not take your suggestion most likely have aproduct they like that will be one of these “Best Sellers”. Adjust your stock to match the trends of the industry asneeded. Be careful to insure that you and your staff continue to focus on the primary line using these “secondary”products to fill voids in product types that exist in your primary product line and for customers that must haveanother name brand. Another reason to have these products is to give you products to compare and contrast withyour primary product line. How many products you stock is up to you but learn everything you can about any indoortanning product you decide to stock. ------------------Greg KlesiusSoakin' Up The Rays, Inc.1-800-935-7625WWW.Soakinuptherays.comAwarded the First TSO Seal of ApprovalWWW.naatso.org |
