Got together with my staff today and began them on a trek to determine what to sell and not sell in 2001!We are dumping all ETS products I know. On the other lotions we are picking select products. We will also try to enhance our Private Label line. What do you recommend Greg? What are you doing this year in your salon? We wanted to simplify the number of lotions we carry for sales purposes and for the prototype of the automated ordering system we will be using this next year.Michael

Can you furnish a list of ETS lotions so we'll know what to avoid? I've added the Bask line since seeing it in Nashville. It's a very nice lotion.

Micheal, Soakin Up The Rays, Inc. has 16 different formula available for Private Labeling. How do you choose what product do you select from my list?First look at what are your most succesful product items now. Super Tingling, Regular accelerators with lower price points, Medium darkness bronzers, and so on. Then compare your top sellers to the product I or other private labelers have available. Build your line of "top sellers using it to repalce national brand items you are eliminating.Use "national" brands for price comparison to your line and as items that sell to little to feature in your own line. You will sell what ever product you are recommending!------------------Greg KlesiusSoakin' Up The Rays, Inc.1-800-935-7625WWW.Soakinuptherays.comAwarded the First TSO Seal of ApprovalWWW.naatso.org

How do you handle a client that requests one of these ETS brands? I have a lot of requests for Swedish Beauty.

Just say no! I have had so many bad dealings with the company. Until I feel good about them I will say no. There are several good alternatives to their products. Florida Tan now has a look-a-like to their Australian Gold line. Priced about the same. JA also has started a new basic line to compete with ETS. Eventually they will quit asking and buy what you recommend.Michael

In retrospect ETS would have done better by letting distributors handle their bed sales and other wares. My bad feeling about the company came about because of their BAD technical support on tanning beds.If they would have allowed someone else handle this then the numbers of people upset with them would have been isolated to only distributors. They would be able to peddle lotions without their name being bad to begin with.My $.02 worth.Michael

Michael, I hate to disagree with you, mainly because you sign my paycheck, but they don't stop asking. Australian Gold is one of our best sellers. At least at this resort. I can't speak for the others, but we sold a truck load of their products this past peak season. There were times when we would be sold out ofa specific item of Australian Gold and we would try to sell them something simular to it. They would flat refuse to buy anything other than what they wanted. How will we dealwith this? Also, I found out there is a Flea Market in our area that is selling name brand accelerators at half our price. I'm afraid that people will go there to get what we don't have. Just my opinion.

Ginger~Don't be afraid to try and persuade your customers to use a better product. If they are insistant on some Swedish Beauty, perhaps they aren't aware of the name-change that occurred last year between JA/SB. There are many people out there that still think they are the same, therefore insist on the product. Perhaps letting them in on that will help and try something like..."If you like Swedish Beauty *and God only knows WHY*you will LOVE this!" Then show them a product that you endorse. Oh, leave out that part between the *'s when you actually say it If they are still resisting, maybe let them try a sample of the product. Then they can see for themselves how much better it is!
