with so much info out there, what makes one bulb better the others?

which brand has the largest market share?

is this relevant? since it could be a best kept secret.

what is the bottom line? the Tan? color of the tan? speed in which it tans?, ability to hold a tan? bulb life expectancy?

Light Sources Inc/Lightech is the largest manufacturer of UV lamps. They are the #1 choice for OEMs also.

Not really, I recommend lamps based on equipment & end results desired. One brand isn't perfect for all equipment on the market.

Depends on the salon owner, sometimes it's about quality, sometimes it's cost.

Many distributors in this market are order takers. When it comes to lamps there are a handful of guys in the market that know what they are talking about.

so is it not the end result "goal" is always the same? tan in short time?

so not dependent on cost, what are the qualities associated with a superior tanning experiences from lamp choices?

That depends on who you ask & what type of clients you have.

Some salons like to provide a gentle bronze tan (High UVA), while others like a fast, more immediate tan (High UVB).

Demographics play a part in what salons offer also, if your salon is in a heavy Irish area, then low to moderate UVB & high UVA is usually more desirable. If say you are in the middle of Greek town you may want a more moderate to high UVB lamp for that skin type.

Equipment requirements can also dictate what is used or not due to FDA compliance issues.

first great explanation of skin type demographics...other than just "depending on skin types" canned response
