I Need Some Lamp Help!!

I am using Interlectric Sun Celeste SCR59/BP/VHO/HP9. In a facial bed. The 59's burnout much faster and the ends get really black. What is the wattage on the 59's? They are running on a 160 watt ballast. If they are 140 Watts should they have a 140 watt ballast?

Bad starters or low voltage or poor cooling.

The starters are good, the voltage is good. I have 6 59's in the middle. and 14 71's next to them on top. it's always the 59's that burnout?? could the ballast be overdriving them if they are 140 watt lamp, running on a 160 watt ballast?

Define much faster in hours. On a Hungarian like solar elements you would get 450-500 out of that type of lamp.

Correct, they are running the 140W 59's on 160W ballast. Many bed companies do this & it kills lamps much faster. You usually start to see issues around 250-300 hours.

No, all FR59 lamps are really 140W, even if they did say 160W on them they wouldn't last any longer. You could change the ballast to 140W, but not sure it would be worth the hassle.
