Re: Are 308 nm and 311 nm better for vitamin D production?

Hi Everyone,

I've just posted a new article about red light therapy in sunbeds:
http://www.thetanningguru.com/red-li...#axzz2X6rcm9BC

It describes the optimal combination (in my humble opinion) of Red Collagen lamps and UV-lamps for the "perfect tan".

Comments appreciated!

Re: Are 308 nm and 311 nm better for vitamin D production?

I finally found (with the help of Lighttech-Lightsources) the perfect lamp for red light therapy tanning.

With perfect, I mean that it also skyrocketed my vitamin D to a new personal record level (and I was not low before).

Read all about it in my latest blog-post here:

Thank you for posting this. This has serious potential to combat the antisun public misinformation.

Unfortunately, it will require mass studies and time to impact.

I'd be curious to know John and Roberts thoughts on this?

We have had this lamp in the US for well over a year now. We call it the Cosmetta FST, for Full Spectrum Tanning. More of what you get from the natural sunlight.

It really won't change anything, our haters are just that, haters. They still think we all tan on FS lamps (65% UVB, medical lamps). Early studies on UV where done using these lamp types & then associated those studies with sun beds.

The Derms, Politicians, FDA have no idea on how much better lamp technology has gotten in the past 30 years. One example is the Sol Glass & 9K90 type lamps that limit the damaging part of the UVA Spectrum (UVAČ), and increase the the Vitamin D action spectrum at the same time.

How do the Rejuvenessence lamps that I got from you, for the bench in my old home bed compare with these?

There is no UV in the Rejuvennessence lamps. The Cosmetta FST are 30% Red Spectrum, a bit of Blue & the rest is UV. So they are tanning with a new twist.

Right, but with having regular lamps in the canopy and the red light in the bench, wouldn't that be comparable?

Or, are we still missing blue?
