Re: Purebronz bulbs

PureBronze are made by Havells-SLI. We tried them a few years back & didn't have the best results with them. They are usually pretty cheap.

The negative results will show up in about 100 hours.

Re: Purebronz bulbs

Just inconsistancy in lamp color & performance. They may have improved since we sold them last, but we nearly had to give these lamps away to get rid of them all.

I know a few salons who are pleased with them, but I'm not sure if that is just price driven?

On this thread, you have both John Hayes at URI and Brian Oshman with Supra responding. Add Robert K and you have 3 of the more knowledgeable - and honest - lamp sales folks around.

If I were you, I would PM each of them the units you are trying to relamp and ask them to recommend a lamp and give you a price. Go from there.

FWIW - for 100W lamps, I have probably paid as little at $5/lamp and as much as $9 or so. For 160W lamps it has probably ranged from $11 - $18.

My priority is a lamp that will be relatively consistent with a reasonable life. For me, that means 100W lamps that I can get (about) 600 good hours from and 160W lamps that I would expect to give a strong 400 hours. Anything above that - bonus!

Re: Purebronz bulbs

I tried some of their VHR 3.5 lamps last and thought they were pretty good, but then the distributer ran out of stock for more than six months. I thought they went out of business???

What distributer are you dealing with?

Re: Purebronz bulbs

Sunsally-can I ask where you get 100W lamps for $9.00?? $10.00 is the best I have been able to do. Looking for Dr Mueller Elixir 36 lamps. Can't find any $5-$9 lamps?
