Rep Power: 0 | Can you get a tan from study/reading lamps? I am not a salon owner or anything like that. I came here because i felt you would have the most knowledge about this. Sorry if a am breaking any forum rules. Anyway i was wondering if i removed the uv filter from the reading lamp and held it really close to my bodyparts( hand, arm, face) could i get a tan? I don't know what watt the bulb is at the moment but on the bottom of the lamp it says ''12v/50watt max'' so im guessing that's too low, but any advice would be helpful Also the uv filter i am removing is like a gladd covering in front of the bulb. It says ''uv filter-001'' on it if that helps at all. |

Look up the effects of "UVC". There is a chance that this is what the filter is for. In tanning one need certain wavelengths of UVB and UVA.
