This has probably been asked a thousand times...Cosmolux?

One of our supplier stated that cosmolux 100 watt and 160 watt will last about 1500 hours? Is this true?

I dont want to say your crazy when she says it, without researching it. But its hard for me to believe.

Thats what I was thinking Brian. But did not want to come out and say it to her. Thought there might be something I did not know.

Re: This has probably been asked a thousand times...Cosmolux?

Very simplistic rule of thumb - 600 hours for 100W lamps, 400 hours for 160W lamps - to change them when they are still performing.

Metering them will be better than rules of thumb. Some conditions will help or hinder. Some lamps are marginally better than others.

But 1500 hrs across the board, for a "brand".

Nope.

Only if you connect two lamps together....700 on one, then 700 on the other. Thats a wild claim.

Maybe they will light up at 1500 hours but they sure will not tan anyone.
