Help needed with lamps - tanTALK

Hi over the past few years here in the U.K. there has been what can only be called a wattage war, salons have been advertising there tube wattages and theyve just gone up and up. I have never got involved with it Ive stuck with 160w which is what came with the beds when new and concentrated on buying the best 160w tube with the highest uv outputs at the time. I have a couple of questions to ask the experts.
Is there any gain with using a higher wattage? By my understanding more wattage creates more heat no more performance gain as in uv.
Blue tubes pink tubes is there any real difference other than just colour?

No, No and No.

The wattage is determined by the ballasts in the unit and not the lamp.
