Rep Power: 0 | Are expensive lamps better? I am having a real problem chosing quality, long life 100, 120, 160 wat bulbs. I dont mind spending more on the bulbs if they produce better tans. I when I put new bulbs in my beds and tell my clients, I am humiliated when multiple people tell me they got no color from the new bulbs. I think the bermuda gold 120 wat bulbs were good, then bought 120 wat brilliance bulbs and they were awful! What is a good bulb to stick with? |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Are expensive lamps better? Also, don't get hung up on wattage hype either. There are only two types of tubes, HO (high output) and VHO (very high output). HO lamps operate in the range of 80 to 120 watts. VHO lamps operate in the range of 140 to 250 watts. The ballast in the bed determines the actual wattage delivered to the lamp. It doesn't work like incandescent lamps where you change the bulb from a 40 watt to a 60 watt bulb and you get more light, in florescent lamps the ballast governs the wattage to the lamp and it is the ballast that determines wattage output to the lamp. The lamp type determines what range of wattage it will operate in. Got it??? |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Are expensive lamps better? Thank you Brian. I am assuming I asked a question you get all the time thats annoying?? Sorry, but I appreciate the info. When I call and talk to the lamp sales rep at many diff places, they don't really have any helpful info. One last (annoying) question.... What brand of HO and VHO lamps do you reccomend? I want quality and long performance lamps. Thank you |
