Well, I know this is an older post, but I hope you have done more research. UVA is a longer wavelenth, UVB is shorter. UVA penetrates deeper and also is slower developing and still needs a smidgen of UVB to work well. Also, UVB is good for you in that it produces Vitamin D in your body. To my knowledge, UVA doesn't.
