Rep Power: 0 | Whats best Lamp? Please HELP! No Distibutor Replys! I have 4 SunStar 332 Beds... and a 52Bulb StarPower... and I am always looking for the better bulb... Right now we use VelocityPlus bulbs in our SunStars and BronzingSun-VSR in our StarPower52. We have noticed that this bulb does a decent job.. but doesnt offer very much of the slight reddning.. Is the UVB to low in this bulb.. Is there a better bulb with a better combination of UVB and UVA out there that I am just not aware of?? Now PLEASE ONLY Salon Owners with real hands on experience with there own bulbs reply here.. I dont want this thread spammed with distributors Claiming there bulbs are the best.. Ofcourse your gonna say that. I want real opinions of Salon Owners. Thank you. |

I have been dealing with him for years (long before he sold lamps)...I bought used beds out of someof his salons. He is an honest guy and EVERYONE I have referred to him has said they saved $$ and loved the lamps!! I use his lamps in my salon that is under deposit and will send the new owners to him. And No, I have nothing to gain by referring people...ask around here, I help fellow tantalkers whenever I can. I get calls from all over at all hours (doesn't make my wife happy) with people that have questions! I used to do tanning bed repair till some a*sh*le rearended my van and screwed up my back/neck and right wrist. Guess if I can't make money fixing things, I migth as well get the satisfaction of helping people when I can!!

I use the manual first that comes with the bed. There is a section to what bulbs and name brands that are compatible to the wattage of your bed. That is of main importance first along with regulations in your area to protect your equipment and salon. Then its really up to you to do the home work on the phone or online to understand the uv outputs and what color the bulb offers. And to find out how quick the color is seen. So many, many, many bulbs. If you have the right distributors they will refer an avenue for you to better your search. | |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Whats best Lamp? Please HELP! No Distibutor Replys! Well to be honest.. I was hoping that I could hear some input from Salon owners that have learned thru trial and error what bulbs they have in there salon.. and what is better and why... I hear soo many different things for every distributor.. they all say something different.. and they all claim that "There" bulb is the best. ofcourse they are gonna say that. For example.. I am having trouble knowing when its best and time to change the bulbs. Some experts tell me 700Hours.. others say.. Use a UV meter and change them when the % drops down to 70%. Some say that excessive heat in room lowers the life of the bulb.. and somone I called today.. said that didnt matter.. that should get 700 hours atleast outta the bulbs no matter what.. My meter currently shows only a 15% drop in original numbers.. but have had the bulbs in for 6 months. Normally I would have changed them by now.. but I lost the log of what the hours were.. so have only the meter to go by.. and it says its not time.. but starting to get comments that people arent noticing results. Ask a distributor today If there was a bulb that was better to replace Velocity Extreme, and she said YES... BronzingSun HPK90 and then told me the Flux of each bulb.. Extreme has 1.3UVB 26UVA and the BronzHPK90 has 0.6UVB 28UVA now to me I sacrifice alot of UVB for little UVA gain.. so how can it be better? I want the best blend. So if someone could shed some light to all of this .. I would appreciate it. Last edited by Jinxer; 08-27-2009 at 02:34 PM. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Whats best Lamp? Please HELP! No Distibutor Replys! Jinxer I think you are looking for an answer that does not exists. There is no one best lamp. Every bed has different characteristics so lamps will performs a little different in each one. In addition each salon owner is looking for something different out of their bed mix. Call a few different distributors and find someone that you are comfortable with. A good distributor will go through you bed mix and recommend the best lamp for each of your units based on your input. Last edited by Robert K; 08-27-2009 at 03:50 PM. |
