Reviews and Opinions on ETS - Envy 134 Tanning bed??

Looking to get a few of the Envy 134 beds. Was hoping for some reviews and or opinions on there tanning performance. We would be replacing Sunstar 332 beds. So curious if we would be getting a better bed that offered better tanning ability etc etc. Couple of my concerns are:

- I notice the lamps in the canopy have a slightly bigger gap between the lamps then I am used to.. Will using reflector lamps cause striping.. or does the manufactures take that into consideration when making beds now a days.

- My sunstar 332 have a bad design flaw with the facial lamp holders over heating and melting... and we have had to start replacing them alot.. Any idea if they have inproved this in there newer beds or do they use the same lamp holder?

Part of the reason we are wanting to upgrade a little is to try to get away from the nickle diming on repairs..

Thanks in advance for anyone that takes the time to give me some insight here.

Re: Reviews and Opinions on ETS - Envy 134 Tanning bed??

ETS Beds in my honest opinion are a horrible choice.

Legends - The lack of spacing in between lamps causes heat issues which cause your lamps to burn out quicker. Cannot explain how many times I have to replace lamps that have actually split in 2. Cooling fans are subpar and air flow is weak at best. Acrylic over time(top) will begin to slide if to much pressure is added while cleaning. Causing issues where the acrylic can start to rest on the lamps and cause burn marks on it. Internally the set up was not thought up very well. Replacing anything is a chore and requires more steps than it should. Every ballast will require splicing wires.

Epic - Read above.

Envy - While the lamp spacing is not a issue in this bed, the internal problems are the same. Big issue is wires burning out and needing replacing.

These are beds which have a "fancy" outside but long term care will cost you. If you want the look you can buy LED strips for cheap at Lowes.

I hope this saves you some headaches.

So...... what size room do you have these beds in ? A.C. ?

Every call I get is a heat issue. A 2010 or newer bed in a room built for a 1990's bed.

Re: Reviews and Opinions on ETS - Envy 134 Tanning bed??

Typically I would agree with you, but the rooms these particular beds are in are in a well designed salon. Each room is over sized to allow maintenance easy / walking room around the units. Legend is 11x10, Epic is 11x10, Envy units are 9x8. Full AC for whole salons and with vents in each room.

I have worked on beds with older / not ETS equipment in smaller salons, smaller rooms without AC that have held up better. Just my honest opinion from my experience.

Can't argue on the Epic or Legend - have not had to work on them yet. But even in ETS's worse years, when they were built in an old barn, there were worse beds out there.

Even in the greatest salon with the best A.C. there can be hit problems. Do the walls go to ceiling ? Try using them only twice an hour and see if there's a change.
