Ergoline Affinity 500 - Not starting when pushing Start/Stop Button

I have a two year old Affinity 500 that is not starting when I hit the Start button on the control panel. I've replaced the membrane, then the entire control panel, then the slot board and the bed still isn't starting.

Then after I put the bed out of service and no customers are using it periodically the cool down cycle will run even though the bed hasn't been run.

Does anyone know what could be causing this issue? I've had Sun Tan Supply up to fix it three times already and it's still not corrected. Anyone have any other advice?

Who suggested replacing the Slot board. Those things are expensive, aren't they? May just need to be reset with the secret Laptop and Dongle. But there should be an error code.

We had a 400 that repeatedly would not start. Would reset. But problem would reoccur. Turn out one of the circuit board has a lithium battery that needed to be replaced. The battery served as a memory backup if power was ever interrupted to bed.

Re: Ergoline Affinity 500 - Not starting when pushing Start/Stop Button

The ergo tech recommended it and it seemed to do the trick for one month but now it's back to improper functioning. There are no error codes showing otherwise I'd believe it could be a quick diagnosis. The bed will operate normally for a handful of sessions and then just no longer work. And as mentioned above it occasionally just cycles the cool down session whenever it feels like it.

The Ergo tech told us to replace the slot board too. But since it was about $500 I research around. Found it to be the $3 battery.

Re: Ergoline Affinity 500 - Not starting when pushing Start/Stop Button

Any more help guys.... The bed just shut off on a customer mid session and only the shoulder tanners were on. The main lamps and facials were off but the fans were on and functioning fine when you pressed the PLUS and MINUS button. The control panel was just showing a single "6". No zeros with it either and no E to make me believe it was an error code. I'm at a loss on what it can be. I've replaced the token board, the slot board and the control panel over the last month. Any help is appreciated.

Well if it's operating, even incorrectly, it won't be the battery I suggested.

Re: Ergoline Affinity 500 - Not starting when pushing Start/Stop Button

I have this problem on an Affinity 600. It will randomly shut off mid-session or not even start. It has been doing this sporadically for over 2 years. No error codes and no real pattern of shutting down. It seems to follow Murphy's Law: It will shut down at the worst possible time or shut off on the most unforgiving customer.

^^^had a classic 600 doing something similar. The main fan was the problem. Thought it was the flag switch, or worse, the fan itself. Turned out it was the capacitor for the fan.
