Rep Power: 0 | Soltron S-45 Pepper or Ergoline Advantage 400 Hi guys, Some of you might have read my old thread regarding the new rules here in sweden and some pre owned beds that i was looking at. I've just decided to go with the Ergoline Advantage 400, were just going to choose between a bed with old design (from the agent) or a bed with the new design from a saloon owner. The newer model from the saloon owner is a little bit cheaper, and almost new lamps and everything. But then today an old contact called me and told me he could get me a Soltron s-45 Chili Pepper (i guess he meant "Hot Pepper"). Price is 1800/400 USD cheaper than the ergoline beds, and the installation and freight was included in the price for Soltron. So it sounds really nice to me. Heard that Ergoline manufacture Soltron as well. Any thoughts and tips about this before i make my final decision? Is Soltron a similar bed to the advantage 400 or should i stay with ergoline even tho its a bit more expensive and i have to solve the freight and installation somehow. The only difference i can find is that the acrylic is just flat on the soltron. And the owner told me i could choose if i wanted 100 or 160w in the bottom. Told me he could change the (dont know the words.. ballasts??) drosslar in swedish. Thanks in advance!! =) |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: Soltron S-45 Pepper or Ergoline Advantage 400 Advantage 400: 15 Minute maximum exposure schedule Total UV output In Kj/Min: 69.3 3 VIT Max 400-Watt high-pressure facial tanners Aluminum reflector system Power Output switch for facial zone (Including Off): 3 settings 40 Ergoline VHP Turbo Power 140-Watt UV Lamps Lamp Length: 71 Inches Reflector neck tanner Hot Pepper: Max exposure schedule: 15 minutes Number and wattage of UV lamps: 40 x 140W Lamp length: 71 inches Number and wattage of Facial Tanners: 3 x 400W Facial tanner output settings (including off): 3 Filter Technology: Soltron Reflector Technology: Alu/PSR Soltron/Ergoline are the same company, and for the most part the same beds, different name, little in styling. As you can see, the same lamp configuration for both. Base your decision on your cost, service after the sale. Buying from a 'rep' can/may offer free shipping/setup/service afterwards. Buy from a private owner, and some of the most important attributes are not there. I would prefer ship/setup/service more important than the extra cost..but that is me. You can compare both here: http://www.forevertan.net/tanning_be...ot_pepper.html This is a link to a local dealer here in the USA, but beds are same in Europe Ballast do supply lamp output, HOWEVER, I do not know if that should be done, local laws, ordinances may prohibit so I could not reflect on that. Why tho, would you want to? If you want a 'stronger' bed, buy one instead. I would not alter anything that may affect any manufacturer warranty or future repair on the bed Hope this helps |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Soltron S-45 Pepper or Ergoline Advantage 400 Basically everything the Black Sun says is true. The Hot Pepper is a great bed, and is my most popular model. I have the older 140w version, but the newer ones do offer a 160w option. Like was said, I wouldn't chance converting the ballasts in a 140 to a 160, as it wasn't made that way in the first place. The 20 watt difference won't be noticeable anyway. My customers love the Hot Peppers, and the flat acrylics. I'd also go with seller that would offer the best after the sale service and parts. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Soltron S-45 Pepper or Ergoline Advantage 400 Thank you guys for the information. Im really interested in the Soltron bed actually. But i cant find a way to know what is the original wattage of the beds. On the website http://www.soltron.us/ it says 140 or 160W , but i've also read somewhere that some s45 had only 100w. Same with the ergoline advantage 400 in sweden. They all have 160w lamps. Even when i look at the pre owned Soltron beds from the dealer they have 160w. http://metrotan.net/content/view/24/42/ here it says 100 or 160w. So maybe it depends on which country. Well i guess i could just take the serial nr of the bed.. i will visit him tomorrow and have a look at it. Maybe i could ask Soltron what was the original wattage. 100, 140 or 160w. Bed is made 2007 if that would matter somehow. |

Rep Power: 25 | Re: Soltron S-45 Pepper or Ergoline Advantage 400 On this topic - you are really going to ask your local dealer and then research it more locally. Unfortunately, few in any on this site understand the regulations you face in Sweden (Don Smith or Stan or someone may weigh in). I think I follow it - but I am not going to put myself in the position to advise you and be wrong. Those particular two units are, in their US versions, substantially similar. Here - they came, in standard form, in 140W top and bottom - 40 lamps total - with 3 High Pressure facials -- at a 15 min time frame. Here, going through the trouble of switching out ballasts from 140/160W to 100W wouldn't make financial sense. It would make much more sense to just buy a 100W bed in the first place (for example - the Ergoline 350 instead of 400). So if what you want is a 100W bed - you should look for one of those. If what you want is a 140/160W bed - either of these will do the job just fine so go with the best situation for you, encompassing price, delivery, install, warranty etc. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Soltron S-45 Pepper or Ergoline Advantage 400 Ah okey, i see! No i'm actually mostly worried about the bed being a 100 or 140w as original. But then changed to 160w afterward by himself. So its a 160w bed that i want. But trying to learn all the specifications and get the know how isnt easy. Everything seems so different for every country. Like you say that the 350 is a 100w bed over there. Here in sweden there are 160w in every Advantage 350. The problem is that the dealers doesnt really want to talk about pre owned bed and what to think about. They usually just trying to get me buying a brand new bed. And i really cant afford that, neither a pre owned from the dealers. They usually take more than twice the money compared to private owners. So thats my biggest issue. For the moment its just the ergoline dealer here in Sweden that seems trustful and completely honest. But i've understood that both of the beds will make me satisfied! Now i just have to try to get the best offer :) Thank you so much, all of you! |
