Moving a bed...do you remove the ballast?

I'm purchasing a bed from a lady who said she removed the ballast and has them in a box. Is this standard? Also, what kind of tool do you use to remove the canopy from the bench?

Ballasts are usually in a tray. So she may have removed the tray from the bed. But not likely that she removed all 24 ballast separately out of the bed.

I honestly have never heard of someone doing that. The ballast trays are usually on rollers or can be moved using a hand dolly. I would never recommend taking the ballasts out of the tray. It would be a wiring nightmare to reassemble. I won't touch that bed.
