Thinking of buying a Velocity HP 1000... Help - tanTALK

I'm considering buying a Velocity 1000.... 15 min. I'd like some advice as to whether or not I should proceed with the purchase. I've read mixed reviews about this bed so please be honest. Id be getting it for under $6,000. Its a 2007 with new lamps and acrylics. Also if there are much better HP options for around this price I'd be very interested in looking at them. P.S. I DO like this bed, just not sure if its going to be my smartest/most profitable bet.

Your thoughts?

Fair price on an OK bed. Not the best tanner out there but a decent looking bed and with the right lamps tans ok. Cheap way to get into HP. What are your other units?

Older beds.. I have a prosun luxura, ets vertical solution standup, some ultrasun sunburst 4000's, puertan impacts, and some sundash 232's. It would be a pretty nice addition to our salon I think. Are there any issues with the bed that people normally see?

This is from what i have read. The lamps are too far from the body hence it does not tan very well.

In my opinion, it ranks near the bottom for HP units. I personally would not even look at this bed. Mac, where are you in Texas? Is this a bed from Malibu?

Hot Stuff - I'm down here in Malibu's area but I'm positive it's not one of their beds.. Would you not look at it because it won't return the investment or because you could get a better bed for the same price? I'm all in if I can get something better, but I also need to offer HP to my customers. What would you do? Sit and wait for a better deal? Because I'm open to doing that too, especially through the slow season..

If you want to just have a HP bed then ok. If you want to have a good HP bed then no. It just does not perform to the better bed levels. The lamps are just too far away from the tanner. I know that you are looking at it on price but if you spend a little more, you can get a better bed. I learned a long time ago, it is not what a piece of equipment costs, it is what a piece of equipment will make you.

Look into getting the Sunboard from PCtans. There current plans for the bed mean great discounts.
