matrix bulbs look like they have been dipped in Epson salt.
is this heat degradation of the glass?

seems to be a bit early at 200 hours

Poor cooling, high voltage.

Try cleaning with denatured alcohol.

Never touch the lamp with your hands - body oils are bad.
