you should consider NOT having one and adding another bed instead. unless it is included in a unlimited plan, it won;t get used much, compared to bed use.

Stand-ups get very little use. For your 4 bed set-up, unless you have little space, stick with 4 lay-downs.

Industry stats indicate stand-ups get about 10% use.

Since you are in SC, look into Klafsun beds. They are in Charlotte.

If your standups arent popular reevaluate your business plan. Last i checks zoomtan was all standups growing pretty fast. Probably doing something right.

I have many standups and not sure what the 40% of clients that use them would do if we didnt have them. Every salon needs to have both if its doing any business.

Also turnaround time in a standup is about 12-13 minutes. Cant get that from a bed.

zoom tan may be growing....but for $9.99 anyone might use a stand up.

Stand-up beds do different things than laydowns and that is how you market them, as part of your total UV salon concept. Stand ups have many features: 1) fast tan times, 8-15 minutes 2) no smelly issues afterwards (you don't lay in your own sweat), 3) Tans the sides which are really hard to tan in a laydown. 4) You can get a used 48-60 bulb 160-200 watt standup for a lot less than you can buy the same bed as a laydown. In most cases, they are the most powerful beds in your store. Sun capsule, Tan america, And Sun Ergoline all make good dependable equipment that doesn't break.

There are many beds you can get a 9-10 minute tan..better than a standup...besides, the argument is moot...the issue is not a better tan, but the popularity which equates to usage.
I never indicated better vs bad tan by using a stand-up
Lay downs are just more popular and more preferred over stand-ups...most tanners wish to relax...can not do it standing up.

Is zoom tan doing so well? Or is it just that they have billionaire Tom Galisano throwing all his money at it? If I had a billionaire partner I could have the fastest growing tanning chain too.
