Drama with Vintage Wolff Bed

I'm new the forum and it's my first post (be gentle please). I have a SCA Wolff 124SL that has been in a private club for the past 16 years and been very gently used. We are the second owner and the first owner was a rich lady that just used it on Sundays before it rained in southern California or some such baloney. Anyway it has been a wonderful friend for so long, and we recently moved it to a new location and upon setup the canopy lights, but the base doesn't. The timer says 20 minutes but doesn't count down or operate in anyway. Basically when the breaker is flipped on the canopy lights up and everything is humming (on top). I had an electrician come out and look at everything (he says it looks like a really big shop light to him). He tested all the balasts, they are all fine. Can't find any burned wires or anything obvious.

I am wondering if in the move, and we were very gentle with the move, could more than one thing have gone bad? Like maybe the timer and the switch under the base acrylic? Because it seems if I play with that switch (with the acrylic off) it will engage the fans, etc... (I had a moment of happy when I saw all that going - assembled everything and nada). It seems that maybe the switch under the base acrylic isn't engaging, but that doesn't make sense that the canopy timer isn't doing it's thing.

Anyone have any idea on this oldie but goodie? I really hate to retire it since it looks like it just came off the showroom floor and has been such a good friend, and we are such a small group (a cheerleading club in the Pacific Northwest - where people rust, not tan).

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I have checked with the salons in the area and they said that there isn't a regular tech around here... they said call an electrician.

Re: Drama with Vintage Wolff Bed

You an get a stronger, newer bed for about $1000 max. So when getting estimates keep that in mind :)

Thanks Delany! I live in an obscure area where shipping is an issue. To have anything of size trucked in it would probably cost nearly as much as the object of that size.
