Rep Power: 0 | AC requirements for Open Sun 1050 Looking to upgrade equipment and buy an Open Sun 1050 but am somewhat confused with the AC requirements. The contractor's guide calls for 3.7 tons of AC to offset the heat but if it's vented outside they say to reduce that by 25%. I have a 5 ton outside unit and a 12,000 btu wall unit in each room. Is this sufficient or what do I need to add? Thanks in advance. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: AC requirements for Open Sun 1050 Three tons dedicated. If you vent to the outside you must provide return air back into the salon or you will create a vacuum and the bed will will starve for airflow. Just vent into the drop ceiling provided you have adequate space above it and add 3 tons of air for this bed. Cooling requirements: .5 tons per base bed 1-2 tons per vhr bed 3 tons per hp bed Plus 1 ton per every 400 sq ft of salon space. Any beds vented to the outside must have return air back into the building at the same cfm that is being removed. That method requires you to also deal with the humidity. Cooling hit dry air is easier than hot humid air. |
