Tan America VIP 3000 Gold Tanning Bed
 

Hello Everyone,

I just bought my first tanning bed and it was previously hooked up to a remote computer timer. It is a Tan America VIP 3000 Gold tanning bed. I believe it is about 10 years old. We do not want the bed hooked up to a remote timer, we would prefer it to be "Plug and Play" so that we can plug it in when we need it and it will turn on. Does anyone know how to change the wiring to take it off of the remote timer?

It's for our home business in our salon. We only have one bed, so we do not need it hooked up to a remote timer.

Some areas require tanning beds to be remotely ran. Might check into that

There should be a 6 prong "plug" on the lower right hand side of the bed. it should have 2 wires sticking out of it. twist those 2 wires together with the plug in. This will allow you to use the twist timer
on the console of the bed. The previous responder is right; if you are tanning the public, you need a remote timer. If tanners burn because they are retwisting the timer and extending their session, you will be liable.

Thank you for the tips! It looks like there is an orange, yellow, and black wire coming from the timer to the 6 prong plug. Do you know which two we are to twist together?

There should only be 2 coming from the six prong plug itself- they should be the same color; they were originally together; they were probably cut at the time that the previous owner went from a manual to a remote timer. Just twist the two wires together that come from the plug that are the same color, then the bed will work manually. If the 6 prong is messed up , you can buy a new one from URI- $20.
