SUNSTAR 332 lamp socket

How can I access the bench lamp sockets on a sunstar332! Do I have to get to them from the bed bottem? I have one bulb out (replaced bulb and starter). The ballast seems to be ok! Got to get to the socket to check the wires etc....

Re: SUNSTAR 332 lamp socket

I pulled the end caps, but it appears to me, that the only access to the bench lamp sockets (to replace), is from under the bench itself! Anybody experience this?

You'll have to take the bottom off and pull the skin. Be sure you know which one your going after. Its a pain.

Re: SUNSTAR 332 lamp socket

THANKS! I jacked the bottom up, but of course the wires are so short that I have to work with a mirror! I replaced the lamp sockets (as well as the ballast), and the lamp still won't light! I checked continuity from the ballast to the socket, and have no continuity (as compared to other ballasts/sockets). I think my best bet would be to run a new wire from the ballast to the socket!

Re: SUNSTAR 332 lamp socket

Those beds are daisy chained. Your problem may be in the socket prior to the one you think it is.

Re: SUNSTAR 332 lamp socket

Good point I noticed the jumper between sockets! I'll recheck the surrounding sockets!

Re: SUNSTAR 332 lamp socket

I think you are missing somthing. unless you visually see somthing wrong with the lampholders, they are probabley fine. Check the wires around the capciters in the tray and the main power cords from the bench to the tray for any burns. There is a Blue wire and a purple/yellow wire that powers that lamp.

Re: SUNSTAR 332 lamp socket

Thanks Tantech! After part changing (which I resorted to due to frustration), I pulled the bed from the wall and inspected the screw (pin) connection to find a bad pin. I got it to work, but have ordered some new pins from an electrician to replace! Thanks for the help!
