Connecting Tmax

I have a Dr Kern cx320 and when I bought it they apparently just cut the wire that went to the timer. I ordered a t-max timer 1A. However it came with a phone jack type cord. The cord coming out of the bed is more of a regular type electrical cord. Should I connect the one with the bed (although it is not near long enough now that its been cut, I'd have to replace it) or cut the end of the phone jack cord that came with the timer and splice it into the connectors? Thanks for any help! I'm new at the tanning bed business.

Re: Connecting Tmax

I personally doubt the electrical type cord is a timer connection, but you never know. If the bed has a built in t-max there should be a place, like on the ballast box, to plug in your "telephone" cord. If not there could be a connection that looks like a "noozle" somewhere on the outside of the unit.

Re: Connecting Tmax

As best I can tell the cord is connected to the remote timer connection. They had it connected to a 1A and I've got a 3A

Well, that could be it then, give it a whirl, what could possibly go wrong?
