Rep Power: 0 | Need help with UV beds I am thinking about introducing UV tanning into my salon, which is solely a custom airbrushing salon (which has done great) I unfortunately do not know much about UV beds and would kindly appreciate any help and advice you could offer. I'm not a dummy and going blind sided into this, that is why I am starting here for advice. I am also going to take my time and extensively research before I make any hasty decisions. SO: What is the differences between standards, high performance, high pressure etc. What do I need to know about the lamps, the watts, bulbs, electricity, etc. I would like to offer 1 stand up, and 1 lay down; which makes and models are preferable and why? Thank you for taking the time to read this. |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: Need help with UV beds Before any beds are considered, what size space do you have/is current AC/electrical capable of taking this on/any funds set aside for expansion/will landlord permit buildout necessary for added equipment/how many rooms are you planning/software will be needed/T-max / insurance addition etc.... Plan this as if you were opening a new salon (which in essence you are), and not just 'adding some beds to my spray business" You may be in for a surprise how this can add up in $$$$ |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Need help with UV beds I am full aware of the cost. I appreciate you bringing all of the necessary considerations, I have already taken care of all I need to know etc. I always see people putting down others asking about starting a biz or a salon and people who have salons and have been on this site for some time put those people down and talk down on them and laugh. I think it's rude and discouraging. While some do have great points, i feel it is better to help someone versus putting someone down. We all started somewhere, didnt we? *Don't get me wrong I am not saying you are doing*that now. I just don't agree with others doing it to people who are just starting out looking for help and information. I do appreciate what you said Black Sun about starting as a new business, great point! Being that everything is taken care of insurance, build outs, permit, electrical, AC, space, etc I have found some great help directly from ProSun, any thoughts or advice about the company?* |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: Need help with UV beds Pro Sun is okay...been around awhile, but if I was spending that kind of money I'd look elsewhere. To their credit one of the few to still be around. My preference would be #1 UWE, #2 KBL, #3 Sportarredo, #4 Ergo-Soltron, #5UltraSun #6 ProSun This is my opinion, and not industry rated You may also want to look into Heartland- TanAmerica(www.heartlandtan.com) May be less $$ for you, and would serve your needs/demographics etc just right. Good beds and would, IMO, consider them over ProSun. Plus Heartland has a good pool of re-furbished beds which you should consider as well. Less $$ and would serve your needs well. If you are considering one laydown/1 standup I would consider at least 34-36 lamp bed with 120 lamps, a 50+ 200w lamper standup |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: Need help with UV beds I meant to add, you may wish to check out Klafsun beds ( http://www.klafsun.com/ ). They are not as popular in name, but are excellent beds. What they lack in 'wow' factor they make up in performance and reliability. Check out their Executive bed A lot less money than ProSun/UWE/Ergo etc. They use to be sold under the Sontegra brand. I seriously doubt you will find anyone on the boards, or any where else, have any negative remarks about them. |
